Here at sarahtitus.com we want to see you live a fabulous life. That’s why I’ve designed this blog to have resources (many of them FREE!!) that will help you design a life you love.
And that is our mission – to design a life we love.

Notice the second word of this saying – designed. That’s action, movement. It means we have to put in some sweat to make things happen.
I often hear people complaining that they’ve been waiting on God to do something for them that He has told them He will do. My first thought is always, “Have you done your part?”
God wants to bless us, but often that takes us ACTIVELY PARTICIPATING in the process. We can’t just sit around and wait for God to do things for us.
Think about Abraham, one of the most famous, wealthy, blessed men in the Bible. At one point God tells Abraham that it’s time for him to move. God tells Abraham, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you,” Genesis 12:1.
That’s a tall order. God was asking Abraham to uproot himself from his country and take his entire family somewhere else, and God doesn’t tell him where he’s going! That takes some faith!
But then God says to Abraham, “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you,” Genesis 12:2-3.
Wow…not only does God promise to make him well known, but everyone in the world will be blessed BECAUSE OF ABRAHAM! That’s quite a plan and quite a promise God had for Abraham.
But what did it take for God’s plan to work for Abraham? Abraham had to GO…he had to trust, and he had to MOVE. And you know what the next verse says?
Abraham went. He took that first step and then kept going. And the rest is God’s beautiful history and His plan. Abraham was blessed beyond measure.
If we want to be blessed we have to be a part of the process. God’s plans for us are so far beyond what we can even imagine (Isaiah 55:8-9), and they might even seem unachievable if God told us every detail, but I assure you if you trust Him and follow his direction, He will lead you to blessings you can’t even imagine.
Now, of course, not everything will always go our way, and there are many things that are beyond our control. But our reaction to those things is in our control. And I know that sometimes things seem so huge that we think there’s nothing we can do.
But we can.
When I finally got to a point with my ex-husband, after the constantly belittling, after the cheating, where he became physically abusive, and I knew I couldn’t put myself or my children in that position any longer, I took a step. It was both extremely easy and extremely difficult. The easy part was distancing myself from that abusive behavior. The difficult part, and I mean extremely difficult part, was realizing and taking responsibility for every aspect of me and my kids lives. And I’m going to be real transparent here…money was a huge issue. How in the world could I, someone who hadn’t been in the workforce for a while, manage to make a living for me and my kids let alone design a life I loved?
Here’s how that worked…God and I together built my beautiful life.
You see, He’ll never leave us (Deuteronomy 31:8), and, when we trust Him, He makes our path straight (Proverbs 3:5-6). And you know, the shortest distance between two points is a straight line, so to get where you want to be trust Him. He already has the plan for our lives laid out: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future,” Jeremiah 29:11.
He directed my steps, and I put in the sweat. I listened to His guidance, and He made my path straight. It was at times tiring, and hard, and stretched me further than I thought I could go (and still does at times!), and it was beautiful, and fulfilling, and life-changing.
It became my beautiful life.
