Today I woke up and my arms hurt! Gripping the steering wheel too hard. The drive from Bend, Oregon to Newport, Oregon is not for the faint of heart. Let’s just say that! It’s really beautiful…
(don’t worry, I didn’t shoot that photo! My daughter did as we were driving) 🙂
…but the road is windy as heck and I have this thing where I’m scared to drive around cliffs. I know, I know, I’m weird. When my ex-husband was driving one day in the Bay Area of CA, he literally almost drove us off a huge cliff. We were quite literally one inch from the edge of the road…yes, I know that because we had to get out and saw the one inch from our front tires. It was so scary! Ever since then, I’m scared of driving around cliffs. He used to drive extra fast around cliffs to frighten me…nice, huh… 🙁
BUT….we got to Newport…and…left immediately! I’ve been there before a few times. It’s not the nicest of cities, in my opinion. It has a lighthouse and a pier, but my favorite is Lincoln City, so we went there. There’s a great Factory Outlet stores in Lincoln City that we visited. They are brick and of course…we HAD TO stop for a photo shoot. I love the brick background on photos, don’t you?!
My daughter showing off her new haircut. We found a place nearby where we were killing time for…I forget what now. I think she looks older now. How old do you think she is?
And I got a haircut too…I know…gasp. I let someone else touch my hair (I cut my own hair), but I do like to get it done every couple years or so, so it gets shaped nicely, then I maintain myself. 🙂 And of course…my upside down smile again. 😛
About 40 miles away is Tillamook, Oregon, which is where they make Tillamook ice cream, cheese, etc.
If you have the time, you definitely have to check out the plant. There’s a tour there and an ice cream shop and gift shop. It’s REALLY cool. A little ways down from that, is a petting farm, where you can feed goats and animals. The kids really like that.
Tomorrow is another ocean day, so stay tuned! Lots of fun pics coming! 🙂
