Still in Bend, Oregon…and lovin’ it! The drive up to Mt. Bachelor was so serene and beautiful. So calming and relaxing. Just gorgeous. Here’s the top of the mountain…I don’t ski (too chicken!) but there are a lot of skiers here, as you can see.
What I love about Bend, is that most everyone is very health conscience. Lots of people bike and walk. The way of living is so relaxing and green. I miss that! They recycle. They care about the planet and each other.
In Oregon, you are not allowed to pump your own gas; did you know that?! They have attendants to do it for you and the nice ones, wash your windshield for you. 🙂
When there is 5 or more cars behind you, by law, you have to pull over and let them pass. It’s literally illegal to be rude here! Politeness matters! Oh yeah, and there’s no sales tax in Oregon…that’s a biggie! 🙂 If you’ve not been to Oregon, Bend is definitely a place to check out.
We also checked out the waterfall in Tumalo Falls. It was, of course, gorgeous. It’s about a quarter mile hike each way, but we all made it just fine. It’s really steep, but it’s okay with kids…just keep them close to you, so no one falls off a cliff! That would be bad! lol
Okay, okay, okay, I might have gotten caught resting on the way up… 😉 Next on my to-do list..start exercising and get in shape! Lost me some 70 pounds over here…now to keep going and exercise! I really am finding joy in it. I love sweating, as weird as that sounds. Sweating releases toxins in your body; makes you feel better! 🙂
Here’s part of the waterfall.
And the top of the waterfall…..selfie!
That was a hard shot to get. I was so afraid I’d drop my iPhone off the cliff! lol. But, I didn’t! Yay! 🙂 And there’s my smile. I swear I’m the only person in the world who when they smile, it curves DOWN….what the heck???? Why does it do that? So weird! LOL.
After that, we left….
Sing with me….on the road again….going places that we’ve never been….I just can’t wait to get on the road again…
We ended up stopping along the road. I saw some beautiful trees and had to stop for pictures and a picnic lunch.
There’s my smiley little guy….
I’m trying to teach my daughter photography, since it’s one of my hobbies…she’s actually not bad at it. Considering she just started on the trip…it’s pretty dang good!
In that picture you can see the moles on my arm. The moles make a picture…..a kite. No one believes me until I draw on my arm and connect the dots. LOL….one day I’ll have to show you. It’s quite comical.
Out of all the pictures I’ve taken on the trip, THIS ONE is my FAVORITE!
I’m a sucker for white tree trunks. I have no idea why…I’m just weird like that. 🙂 I also really ADORE the red bushes. Orange and red and green and a hint of yellow…fall colors. I love fall. We don’t really get fall where I’m at…it goes summer….then BAM, winter and snow. A few trees turn color, but not much. Not like that gorgeousness there!
We are headed for the ocean tonight! Ahhhh, the ocean…home. I used to live in Eureka/Arcata, CA at the ocean for many years. The ocean will always be home to me. It’s where I really started getting confident in my own skin….becoming the woman I am today.
Nothing centers me like the ocean. When I look at it, all the sudden, all my problems just melt away. I find myself there. Each wave that flows in, it’s like, a part of me. It’s hard to explain, but I just feel so at peace on the beach. Always have.
