Batting cages….that’s all I need to say and my closest friends will totally understand.
I’m obsessed with baseball. I grew up playing baseball on an all boys team. It’s my thing. I just love it. When I play, the guys stop and watch me bat…it’s kind of funny. Not sure what they’re looking at, but there’s very few balls I miss, I can tell you that. I hit most of them and hard. I’m known for home runs and catching fly balls. Just something I really enjoy.
So while in Bend, of COURSE I’m going to hit up the Sun Mountain Fun Center with the batting cages, arcade, and bumper cars.
While playing around in the arcade, I found out my daughter is pretty good at basketball…who knew?! I also played basketball for a few years, so don’t let my short stature fool you…I can still get the ball in the net a good portion of the time. 🙂
And don’t let me forget to introduce you to Suzy…my baby! Don’t make me go all Tim Allen on you. Seriously, I love my car (yes, Suzy is paid for…I don’t have debt!) 🙂
She’s the real rockstar of the trip…keeping us nice and safe and comfy. She just had her one year birthday (she’s a 2015) and she’s at 3,200 miles before the trip…since I work from home, she doesn’t get a lot of miles on her, so I’m hoping to keep her in tip-top shape for a very long time. My goal: 15 years!
Aren’t the trees gorgeous in the background? Ahhhhhhhh……it’s so green in Oregon. I miss it here. I used to live in Bend!
To round out the day, we did lots of shopping…..LOTS of shopping. 🙂 Didn’t buy a whole lot, but I did find a few good deals.
Backpacks for the kids for $6 each that included lunch boxes, so I grabbed 6 total! Should last my kids a few years. 🙂
I did end up buying the black shirt on the right…it looks cute and was like $8 something on clearance! Man, I miss the deals in Bend!
Looks like what’s in for this upcoming season is the color burgundy, which is totally awesome. Love me some burgundy! …..and flannel. Okay guys, you won’t catch me in any flannel. I don’t care HOW popular it is. Not my style. Guck!
I also took my kids to Trader Joe’s (they’ve never been before), which I ADORE that store. I love organic food and that store is just AH-mazing. The common misconception about organic food is that it tastes gross, but it doesn’t. At all! It’s a little more in cost than regular food, but…have you priced cancer treatments lately? Just sayin’! 😉
Tomorrow we’re going to go up into the mountains and hit the waterfalls and Mt. Bachelor, so stay tuned!
