How to Draw a Castle

I pulled up to the house and my jaw DROPPED. WOOOOAAAHHHHH. 😮😮😮 I had never seen, in person, such a large and beautiful house.

It looked like a castle to me. All around the neighborhood were more castles. Castles EVERYWHERE.

I was purchasing a train table off of Craigslist and as I saw the foyer, it was just stunning. Stairs all the way up to everywhere. I felt so small in such a large house.

Now, I’m not saying go into people’s houses you meet off Craigslist, but for this particular item, I needed to and it was in completely safe conditions. 😊

I bought the train table and was just amazed at how lucky I was to have been able to view such a beautiful home inside. Way bigger and more than I’d ever be able to have but it was exciting to see.

That was around 10 years ago.

Since then, the country road leading to the house has been expanded and there are more homes and businesses, restaurants, shopping, all around. But I’ll never forget that house. 🏡

Why?

Because it made me realize that there was more possible than what I had already thought and every time we expand our brains, we realize that we can bust through the ceilings and do more…be more.

Whether it be us getting better in our parenting, becoming a better wife, or even becoming a better Christian. Whatever we are doing, there is more through the ceiling and we cannot ever fall into limiting beliefs!

Something I thought was soooo out of reach for me at the time, something I didn’t even DESIRE at the time but thought it was so stunningly gorgeous, and God, in His majesty, love, and mercy, gave ME, little ME, a really beautifully gorgeous home TOO…in the same neighborhood! 😮

It’s not because I saw a house and lusted after it or was discontent with what I had, I want to be very clear. I didn’t. But it was realizing that there IS no ceiling. That the only ceiling we have is the ones we put on OURSELVES! And that knowledge thrust me forward, day after day, week after week, to here.

All the hard work I’ve put in over the years. All the sweat equity I built into this blog, into following His paths for me, everything I’ve done, all the decisions I’ve made along the way, in His grace and lovingkindness, He’s given me an amazing treasure here on earth (don’t give up on your dreams!!!) 💎

A big enough place to host Bible studies or entertain people from the church, just whatever I wanna do to use His gifts to serve and help others. It’s been such an amazing ride.

But I’ll never forget where it started. On a back road in the middle of nowhere, driving up to a house I’d never been to before. Seeing something I never thought I’d see again.

God is so good to us, isn’t He?! 💯 As we follow HIS paths for our lives. Maybe your path doesn’t include a castle. Maybe it includes something else. But whatever it is that your path holds for you, you can be absolutely SURE that God WANTS to pour favor on you and favor as you seek to serve Him and put Him first in your life. Not because He has to, but by His very nature: He is GOOD! 🙌

It’s not about the house. It’s not about the castle. It’s about Him and His love. It’s about a transformed life. 👉 It’s about what He’s done for me on the INSIDE just as much as it is about what He’s done for me on the OUTSIDE.

He is GOOD. He is ALWAYS…good. 👏

When you’re drawing this with your kids, hold onto that treasure…He’s there with you always, whether you live in the slums like where I grew up in or a fancy mansion. He’s there and He wants to be number ONE in your life.
