I tried making the deodorant recipe you posted and mine was still really oily in consistency. Is this because its summer or does it turn oily when it comes in contact with body temp anyway? Just wondering if I made a mistake or what could be the culprit. Does it glide on like typical deodorant? Thank you!
Sarah says
Good question Leslie. 🙂 Great job for making your own deodorant! Did you put it in the fridge to solidify? If you did and it still seems to be off, sounds like the ingredients are off. It won’t be super hard like a regular deodorant, but the texture won’t be mushy either. Sounds like there’s too much oil in there, but hard to tell without seeing it.

I have a coconut allergy, could I use grape seed oil instead for any of these recipes?
Sarah says
Yes, any oil would work, even cooking oil, it’s just greasier. Grapeseed or flaxseed oil would be the least greasy I am thinking.
Addi says

Somewhere on your site, I saw a link for how to get a logo for a business name. Where did I see that and what was it? I have searched and searched and can’t find it now. Thank you for all the info. Great read!
Sarah Titus says
Good question Joy. If I still have the link, it would be in my Top 30+ Resources list. It’s an email sign up though, which may be why you’re not seeing it now.

Hi Sarah
I just came across you blog from one of your post on B school! I am from Melbourne, Australia and am so glad I came by your blog. It is beautiful and inspiring all at once. I’ve been reading for the last hour, and will be back for more. And so glad you are a believing and practising Christian spreading His word, love and grace. I also am interested in your EO’s recipes. Just wondering what EO do you use. I am just beginning to explore my curiosity on EO and here in Australia, Doterra seems to be the one used lots. I would love to hear from you!
Thanks heaps. Monica

Barbara says
Sarah, You’re an inspiration to a lot of people I’m sure. I was never in the position I currently find myself in now and never “planned” on ever being here, but the past seven years has taken me to a new direction in life and into a world that I never knew even existed. Thank you for posting your story, I’m not sure if it was difficult or not for you to do but it reminds others that they’re NOT alone and I know that there are a lot of “others” out there that just don’t want to admit that they have ever had to visit this place as well as “others” who are or have been there and understand. Thank you for the great printables, I can’t wait to print out the Essential Oils one. I’ve been wanting to learn more about it and try using them. It was a pleasure to meet a “real” person without the picture perfect home, white picket fence and who are trying to keep up with the Jones’s. I tried and it’s too hard and really not even worth it.
Sarah Titus says
Absolutely. I’m happy to Barbara. Nope, it’s not worth trying to keep up with others….not when God has a different plan for each and every one of us! <3
Patricia says
Thank you! Wow!
Sarah Titus says
Absolutely Patricia. 🙂
