Turn the Hello Ghosts Page Into a Reading Challenge
This is SUCH a natural fit because you already have all those ghosts reading books.
Have kids color one ghost every time they finish a book, complete a certain amount of reading time, or finish a chapter in a book they’re reading through.
For younger kids, one ghost could equal 10 minutes of reading, and for older kids, one ghost could equal 30 mins of reading time for class.
At my son’s school, they had a reading challenge every month and whoever read the most in the class got a special prize. It really encouraged him to develop a love of reading and he won those challenges a lot because he was just always reading!
The teacher would have parents sign the form to make sure reading times were legit and that’s what they’d go by. You could have parents sign the back of the printable to show they’ve seen it and approve the times.
Create a Ghost Personality Game
The Hello Boo page with simple ghost outlines to color has so many different expressions that kids can choose one ghost and give it:
- a name
- a personality
- a favorite color
- a favorite food
- a favorite place
- something it loves doing

Bat Seek and Find
