Lately, I’ve been getting a lot of emails that are talking about how they are down and out and can’t afford to start any business they’d like, they feel they can’t make it, and wondering what my advice to them would be.
Here’s my advice…don’t TELL ME you can’t make it!
Don’t Tell Me You Can’t Make It
I refuse to buy that.
Listen, I didn’t get to where I am now by having an attitude of, “oh woez me” and if you want to get somewhere in your life, you CAN!
NOTHING, hear me, NOTHING can stop you. I don’t care WHAT it is.
When my ex-husband first abandoned us (the second time), the very FIRST month, I had nothing. I wanted to start an essential oil business.
I could start in at around a $150 kit and all the way up to a $2,000 kit.
What did I do?
I worked my BUNS OFF and I started with the $2,000 kit.
You’re thinking to yourself that I’m nuts right now, aren’t you?
It’s okay. I’ve been an entrepreneur for 18 years, count them…18 YEARS. I know what it takes to make it in business…ANY business. You have to have your heart in it and the will to succeed. Full throttle passion. You have to be monetarily invested, or you won’t deem it worthy to continue! Would you quit a $2,000 business as easily as a $150 business? No.
If I can come up with TWO THOUSANDS DOLLARS as a single woman, the first month my ex-husband abandoned my family, I know you can come up with the money to go after your dreams too!
Because your dreams are just sitting there. Waiting to be held. You have to STOP playing it safe. You have to have FIRE in your gut. You have to go for it full throttle.
What’s your dream?
Is your dream worth it to you to go after it? ‘Cuz you were not born to sit on the sidelines, my friend. You were made, you were created for so much more. If only YOU could see in yourself what I SEE!
Nothing can stop you. Unless you let it!
I sold everything I could, in order to make that $2,000. I sold furniture I could easily replace. I did what I could and within a month, I had $2,000 to invest. Do I regret that decision now?
NO! In fact, it was ONE OF THE BEST decisions I’ve EVER made in my life. Because it led me here. I have soooo much knowledge about network marketing and affiliate marketing because I was properly trained. And that all spills over into what I do now….blogging.
Listen, don’t tell me you can’t make it. Don’t tell me you don’t have the money to go after your dreams. You are talking to the WRONG (by a lot!) girl. I won’t buy it for a second.
The truth is, being successful all comes down to attitude.
Are you willing to keep being pushed around or do you want to stand up for yourself and your dreams?
Life is passing you by.
Every single second that clock ticks and gets closer to your end. What mark do you want to leave on the Earth? What kind of legacy do you wanna leave for your children? How do you want people to remember you?
I’ve got a blog. A blog that is cached, recorded, and lives on FOREVER! Posts that I delete off my blog are still online available to view. Did you know that? I’m leaving a legacy for future generations to come.
My words, my story, it’s all there, recorded for all time. Maybe you don’t want to start a blog, that’s okay. Maybe you already have one and you’re messing around with thoughts of inadequacy. STOP!
No one’s going to go after your dreams for you. No one’s going to succeed for you. Is it hard? Yes. But you HAVE GOT to be strong, believe in yourself and what you do, whatever that is.
I have lived my entire life no one believing in me. When I started my blog, no one believed in me. Even right now, this very day, NO ONE in the world believes in me in a very specific area. But it doesn’t matter. Because I do.
Stop saying you can’t make it.
Stop listening to the world tell you that you can’t make it.
Stop listening to that inner voice of yours telling you you’re not good enough.
Stop saying you don’t have the money.
Stop saying you’re not enough.
Stop saying that you can’t do this, whatever “this” is to you.
And get out there and try. Succeed or fail, at least you did something that most people aren’t willing to do: TRY.
You think I got where I am today by playing it safe? I never play it safe. I’m willing to fight tooth and nail for what I believe in.
What do you believe in? What do you want more than anything?
I was homeless with $5 in my pocket. Now, I’m living my dream life and I’ll be danged if I let someone tell me that they can’t do it too.
Passion and belief in yourself, go a lot further than you think. Determination is the key to success. Get up. Get up and DO SOMETHING. ANYTHING. What is it that you want to do?
Wanna start a blog? Do it.
Wanna buy Honest Bloggers Academy? Do it.
Take chances, take risks, because if you don’t, you’ll ALWAYS be miserable working for someone else who IS willing to take risks in life!!!
Here’s a song I LOVE to listen to on repeat…
Listen, you have the power to do ANYTHING you want to do (that is legal.) 🙂

I found you through free printables but I’m so glad I get your newsletter because what you write speaks to me, my fears, and my lack of belief.

Thank you so much for this post! I stumbled across you blog by chance from a search on Pinterest and it has been an absolute God send! All the posts I’ve read so far speak right to my current situation of wanting to pursue my dreams, but lacking faith and letting what others think is and isn’t possible influence my decisions. Thank you so much for all that you do!!
Sarah Titus says
Ugh…letting others influence your decisions. I hear you! It’s definitely difficult. Just surround yourself as much as you can with people who believe in you and if no one does, then go it alone! Glad you found me. 🙂

I appreciate this! We all have “stuff” going on in our life. For me it has been grief, illness, being the main parent taking care of the kiddos, and 100 other things. I’ve allowed myself to stay discouraged, and that’s not okay! I know I’ll be re-reading your call to action again and again. 😉
Sarah Titus says
I love your willingness to admit you’ve allowed yourself to stay discouraged. The truth is that right NOW, I am in THE hardest trial I’ve EVER been in (2 years in running and after that post, I lost more), in my entire life (and I’ve been homeless and abandoned by my ex-husband of 14 years who had 6 known affairs). So, it’s definitely saying a lot. But I REFUSE, absolutely REFUSE to STAY down. When people ask me how I can POSSIBLY make it through everything I have without being put in a mental institution (this is a serious question I get all the time), I say it’s because of God. I’m NOT a victim. I’m a fighter. You’re not alone Rachel. Illness is tough and grief is hard, but you are tougher. Sending lots of love. <3 <3 <3

Thank you so much for your words of encouragement. I love that you took the bigger chance. I love to dream big and sometimes it seems like those dreams will never come to pass. Today I recommit to keep dreaming big.
Sarah Titus says
Thank you for your comment! So glad to hear of your commitment to continue to dream big – keep seeking after God and to what He has called you to. <3
