I must admit that I don’t wear perfume. There’s nothing wrong with it, just that I personally don’t want to put toxins in my body for something that is so temporary (smelling good). But that doesn’t mean I don’t want to smell nice. In fact, I get a lot of compliments because I always try to take time to smell nice…naturally. For me, that means putting scents in my hair. Because my hair is so long and I usually wear it down, when someone hugs me at church or something, they can smell my hair, but it’s not like perfume, where it’s an overload of scent. Nobody wants to be around someone who has TOO much perfume on, right?!
So, putting scents in my hair is the perfect balance for me and it’s something I’ve done for a really long time. Sometimes, I’ll just put my favorite essential oil in my hair and rub it in quickly on the top to tame flyaways. I also like to use Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship Conditioner every other day. It’s my secret trick for smelling good, because seriously, that stuff smells AH-mazing!!! But, if you’d like more of a spray for your hair that will make it smell great, here’s the perfect recipe for you! It’s super simple to make and softens your hair to boot!

*Be sure to note that citrus essential oils are photosensitive and can lighten your hair if exposed to UV rays. I use Lemon essential oil to purposely lighten my hair. You can see before/after pictures and get that recipe here.
