I used to LOVE school as a kid. I came from a broken home and to me, school was FUN, a place to play, to learn, to grow, to be shaped and molded, to test the waters of my personality. As an only child, it was GREAT!
There were certain teachers that really made an impact on my life, two in particular I remember in third and fourth grade and I just loved them. ❤️ I respected them. I wanted to BE like them when I grew up.
The right teacher can really make a massive difference in a child’s life, but that teacher may not ever know it because the child won’t know it until they are grown.
So today, I wanted to honor teachers everywhere, to thank you for all your hard work, your countless hours you pour into your work to help shape the hearts and minds of the little ones in your care; your endeavors are NOT unseen. 💎🥰

You can use these printable school coloring pages for so many meaningful moments in your home or classroom:
- Soothing Back-to-School Anxiety: The transition to a new grade or starting school for the first time can be overwhelming. Change is hard for little ones sometimes. These quiet time activities for kids serve as a wonderful calm-down activity to help students process those first-week jitters and feel at home in their new environments.
- Developing Fine Motor Skills: For my preschool, kindergarten, and first-grade friends, coloring is more than just fun! It’s an essential way to practice pencil grip and fine motor coordination before they start their writing lessons.
- Social-Emotional Learning (SEL): Use these as a quiet time tool to encourage mindfulness. It gives kids a chance to focus, breathe, and express their creativity during a busy school day, letting their mind rest.
- Easy Morning Work or Early Finisher Basket: These are perfect for teachers to have on desks or in classroom centers as students arrive, providing a low-stress way to start the morning or end the day with focus and joy.
- For the Hardworking Teacher: If you’re a teacher, please know I made these with you in mind! ❤️ Use them for yourself as a creative outlet during your prep hour, or keep them on hand for classroom morning work coloring pages. They are a lifesaver for those busy first few days!
- The “Hello School” Welcome: My “Hello School” design is the perfect first day of school coloring sheet. It’s a sweet way to welcome your students into their new home-away-from-home and makes for a beautiful hallway display once they are finished!
- Grade-Specific Fun: These are designed to be age-appropriate for several levels. Use them as preschool school coloring pages to practice staying in the lines, or as kindergarten back-to-school activities to celebrate the big transition to “big kid” school. They also work perfectly as first-grade coloring worksheets for a low-stress creative break.
- Meet the Teacher Night: Keep a stack of these on the desks during Meet the Teacher night. It gives the kids something tactile and fun to do while you chat with parents, helping to ease those initial jitters.
- Celebrations and Parties: Planning a back-to-school party table activity? Lay these out with some glitter crayons for a mess-free station that kids will love.
- The Homeschool Journey: If you’re a homeschool mama like me, use these for your homeschool “school kickoff” day. They are essential homeschooling school printables that help mark the first day as something truly special and different from the summer break.
- Teacher Appreciation: Don’t forget about Teacher Appreciation Week! These make the sweetest teacher appreciation coloring pages when paired with a heartfelt note from your child. Have your child write a fun note on the back along with their name, color it, and give it to their favorite teacher.
- Quiet Moments at Home: Sometimes we just need ten minutes to breathe, right? These make excellent quiet time activities for kids on rainy afternoons or during that post-school hour when everyone needs to decompress.
- Building Strong Hands: Every stroke of the crayon helps with fine motor skill development. You’re helping them build the hand strength they need for a lifetime of writing, all while they think they’re just having fun. 😊
