This summer, I wanted to create a BUNCH of really cute, fun coloring pages for you guys, ESPECIALLY with kids out of school. I know how hard it is to entertain kids (#singlemomlife) 😆 and these adorable summery printables are JUST what you need to give you that little boost of extra time. 🎉
Maybe your kids are going stir crazy. Maybe you are traveling to the ocean and wanna make it fun. Maybe you’re a teacher and wanna use these cute hello mermaid coloring pages for a unit study. It’s a great idea! 💯
One of my two most memorable assignments in school was a major shark writing assignment I had to do in junior high. I remember sitting in the library, learning about sharks and ocean life. My favorite was the carpet shark…that one seems SOOO cool.
It was at that young age that I really fell in love with the ocean and have lived my life, much of it AT the beach (or near it). And really, it all stems from that one class assignment. I started learning and was just so fascinated by it all!
Not only that, but because I was in the library so much, reading all about it and just diving into all things ocean, the librarian took a fancy to me and it ended up leading me to becoming her assistant, an unpaid role that would help me get my start in working! 😍
If you’re a teacher, you may not ever really know how you shape and affect little kids minds. They don’t usually come back to you as adults and say, “Hey, here’s what you did to help me.” But I promise you, the fruit IS there! The foundation is there, and sometimes, it’s a little thing like an assignment that shapes and molds a whole person’s life in many ways! 💯
However you use these adorable mermaid coloring sheets, your kids are absolutely gonna love them!!! 💖

Creative Ways to Use This Fun Mermaid Activity Printable
Story Time
Turn these cute ocean coloring pages into a tiny ocean story activity. After coloring, have them choose one mermaid and write a short story about where she lives, what ocean animal is her best friend, and what treasure she found under the sea. It makes the coloring page last longer and quietly turns it into writing practice too. 💕
I-Spy Counting Game
Help kids learn counting and image recognition with this adorable mermaid and ocean friends colorable page. Count all the tiny bubbles floating around, the hearts, the bows, the starfish, and more!

Stickers
Turn these kawaii fantasy coloring sheets for girls into super cute coloring stickers. Simply cut out each image, have kids color them, and use packaging tape to create durable colorable stickers (or print on sticker paper).
Teachers could use them for a job well done for students, doctors’ offices could pair with a lollipop to kids who get through a good visit, dentists can put them in their treasure boxes. There’s so many uses for them! 👏
Texture Art
Use the ocean animals coloring sheet and turn the fish and seashells into a hands-on ocean craft by adding real texture after the coloring page is finished. Glue a tiny bit of craft sand onto the sandcastle, then add glitter glue, shimmer crayons, or metallic markers to the big seashells and fish so they look extra shiny and special.
Kids can also color the bubbles in soft blues, add pearly dots around the mermaids, or use cotton swabs to dab little “sparkles” around the under the sea scene. It makes these free printable mermaid coloring pages feel more like a 3D beach art project. 🏝️
• Other printables are either functional OR cute. I bridge the gap between the two. Since I'm a single mom and don't have time to mess around and am a kid at heart, I love something that actually propels me forward and gets the job done quickly, while still having that super cute vibe I'm known for.
• I'm a graphic designer FIRST. This means my printables, whether free or paid for, will always be of the highest quality and print crisp and clear on any printer.
• I love what I do and I do the work myself. I'm not hiring these out. This is my life, my hobby, my passion, my heart.
• My fans are obsessed with my work. To date, I've made over $23M on printables alone (organically) in the past 8 years.
Yes! Except for some large binders, all printables on the blog are 100% free for personal use. I make these because I genuinely want you to have something cute and helpful right now without having to spend a dime. You deserve a life that feels more peaceful, more organized, and more you, and if a simple printable can make your day feel lighter, I am so happy to give that to you.
Printables, graphics, backgrounds, SVGs, fonts, and design elements on this site are for personal use only. You may not alter them or redistribute them for free or monetary gain without written consent from the author, Sarah Titus. If you want to share these resources with others, please share the link to the blog post. Teachers & Churches: You may share these with your classes, colleagues, and congregation as long as they are not edited in any way.
Absolutely! You're welcome to print as many copies as you need for your own students or church groups. I only ask that you do not edit them in any way (leaving the full copyright line in tact) or sell them or host the digital files on other websites. • For best results, I recommend using standard 8.5"x11" white paper. Since these are professionally designed as high-resolution PDFs, they'll stay crisp and clear on any printer. To print, simply download the PDF to your device and open your printer settings. Select "Fit to Page" to ensure the printable looks perfect.
• If you're printing stickers, I have a tutorial here.
