Faith doesn’t always come easy. I remember when my ex-husband abandoned our family and we ended up homeless.
It truly was a difficult time. I wasn’t saved at that point in my life (I thought I was a Christian, but wasn’t REALLY) and I feel like God had to take me to that lowest point to get my attention, to get me to look UP to Him.
All my life I thought I was saved. I was baptized when I was 8, and again when I was pregnant with my first child. I did all the “right things”. Went to church, was involved, was baptized, was a “good person, but none of that truly changed my heart, and it won’t change yours either!
We have to do more than just walk an aisle, say a prayer, or be baptized for it to REALLY become true in our lives.
👉 We have to choose God over ourselves. We have to put HIM on the throne, and when I finally did that…
EVERYTHING changed!!!
Suddenly, the world was different. *I* was different!
God didn’t leave me there. He had helped me get an apartment with no down payment. 😮
He helped me get my life back on track.
He helped me make money from home so that I could continue to stay home with my kids, AS a single mom! 😮😮😮
Today I have an amazing life (even as a still single mom) because He’s helped me all throughout the years as I faithfully devote my entire life to HIM and His purposes. He’s given me a blog, a voice, a “trumpet” as it were to proclaim His name to the nations.
Sharing our faith with others is SOOOO important!
Yes, I fall. Yes, I sin. Yes, I stumble and mess up. I’m human. I err. I make mistakes. But the pattern of my life, is Him.
It’s living for Him, loving Him, treasuring Him, cherishing Him. Being fully devoted to Him and HIS purposes, not my own.
👉 It’s my FAITH that’s gotten me through those rough times and others in my life.
Faith that this isn’t the only life we live. Faith that our lives continue after death, whether apart from Him for all eternity or in His presence in Heaven.
Faith that whatever I’m struggling with IN my life right now, isn’t the final and end of things.
That maybe just around the bend, or just around the corner, is something precious and amazing, and if I could just only GET TO IT…
If I could just do the death crawl and get to the end of the road to peek around that corner. Get to that bend where I can’t see around the corner. If I could just peer around the corner and see what’s next. If I could do A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G to get THERE, then what I’d find is the answer I need or the solution to whatever it is I’m struggling with. So that perseverance of just constantly wanting to see what’s around the bend, what’s at that next corner keeps me going.
Fighting another day in this crazy, messed up world. As Christians, we suffer. We are not immune to it. We can’t take a dose of ANYTHING and get out of the pain and suffering of this world but we can have faith and look to our Redeemer. The One that makes it all worth while. The One that saves us. Dusts us off when we’ve fallen, forgives us when we’ve sinned, and helps us to stand.
It’s in HIS love, that I find my faith. It’s in His name, that I find my power. It’s in His grace and mercy, that I find MYSELF.
