If you’re new to the game, you may go into the paint store like I did, when I was deciding what color to paint my house inside, thinking there were just a couple gray colors. “Pick one and you’ll be good, Sarah”, I thought to myself.
Getting to the paint store, I saw what felt like a billion shades of the color gray!!!
WOW! I mean, are there even that many gray colors? 😆
I can attest to you there are, and if you pick the wrong one, for something as important as your home, it can be a super EXPENSIVE mistake.
Let’s just say I got overwhelmed REAL quick with all the choices! And I couldn’t see any in actual homes, so I didn’t know what it would really look like on the walls.
Here’s a few pointers to begin with if you’re picking out a gray color:
- There are two types of gray: warm gray and cool gray. Warm colors are like brown, tan, etc. And cool colors are like purple, blue.
- Warm and cool is the tint of the gray.
- There’s also colors like greige, where it’s a mix of gray/beige, so depending on your lighting (warm or cool lights), it will look gray or beige.
I tried to include as many different lighting scenarios as I could in these home decor color palettes for you, so you can pick the one that is best for YOU! 🥰 And if you want to see my home and what color I ended up going with (interior design is my PASSION, even more than creating printables, and ya’ll know how much I love creating those!!), scroll to the very bottom, where I share the exact color and pics for even more home color palette ideas! 😊
