It’s a great opportunity to remind our loved ones that we love them! I’m really huge on showing people that I love them all year round, but I love we can make it extra special for one day of the year!

As you scour the stores for cards that kids will throw away in all of 5 seconds after they get out of class, you’ll quickly find that manufacturers PURPOSELY set the amount of cards in the boxes to be odd numbers, so you have to buy TWO boxes (per kid!) and then you’re left with extras you’ll never use.
It’s around $2.50/box so it’s $10+ for something that doesn’t even include a treat or small gift.
Plus, you have to REALLY shop super EARLY if you want halfway decent, cute cards. You really have to time it all just right, going to the store after they are set out on the shelves and not going too late when all the GOOD cards are gone.
It’s really urked me for years. Surely there must be a better way!
So I started making my OWN cards! Cards that have been tested in my kids classrooms and have been big hits!
The first year, we started with some glue heart Valentine cards crafts (you can find that tutorial here).
The kids in my daughter’s class LOVED them! We already had the materials here at home, but glue is like 25¢ on sale. Not a lot of money to spend. My daughter was the hit of the day because HER cards were UNIQUE, fun, and seriously COOL!
The next year, we did monster Valentine’s day cards.
Last year we did cupcake Valentine’s cards.
This year, I wanted to provide uplifting, Christian Valentines cards! Something that the kids may not throw away so quickly because they all have really great reminders and truths on them. ❤️
