Do you ever feel like you’re in a constant battle with your thoughts? That your mind is always running a mile a minute and it’s hard to get it to slow down and have peace?
Maybe you feel like Martha in the Bible (Luke 10:38-42), always running and trying to get things done and just not seeing an end in sight.
Feeling like you don’t have enough help.
Feeling like you’re constantly trying to carry things that are way too heavy for you to carry but someone has to, right?
Trying so hard to help. Help your husband, help your family, help your community, help your friends, but there’s only so much of you to go around.
Maybe you feel burdened by finances. You need to make a little extra money each month in order to survive and you don’t want to leave your kids to go work outside the home, but there’s so many scams out there. Where do you start?
Maybe you’re worried about a sick family member or the health of you and your family. Maybe you’re even awaiting test results that could potentially change your entire life.
If any of that sounds familiar, you’re not alone. Anxious thoughts are incredibly common.
Everyone struggles with anxiety in the course of their life from time to time. It’s what we DO WITH that anxiety that matters! 🥰
I have to admit, that as a single mom, I struggle with TONS of anxiety. I do not have ANY help. I don’t have family (parents are deceased, no siblings) or anyone that can help me if I drop the ball. I have to take care of two little children, all day, every day, all by myself. I take care of all the finances, all by myself. Taking care of the house, both in cleaning it, but also in fixing things when they break or go wrong.
Sometimes even a simple lightbulb going out can be really tough because it’s so high up, close to the ceiling, and I’m scared of heights. No way are you getting me on a ladder to change it. 🫣 Something so simple like that can really derail me. Who would I call to help? There’s no one there.
Everything, literally everything, rests on my shoulders. Making an income, serving the world, caring for kids, caring for the house, and a billion other things we all do as women.
It can get very tough at times. Overwhelming and being anxious, stressed, and feeling a ton of pressure and weight on me is something that is very common.
You truly are not alone in how you feel. I understand. I COMPLETELY understand, because I deal with it too. Every single day.
But what if there was a way to calm your anxious mind?
You can!
I tell you the truth, nothing has helped me MORE in this area than 1 Peter 5:7. Cast your cares upon Him. Why? Because He cares for you. 🙌
He is concerned about the things YOU are concerned about. He doesn’t worry, but He loves you, He cares about you, He doesn’t want you to experience pain or suffering, and anxiety is a form of torture. 💯
It can become so bad, the feelings so intense, that it feels like you’re being tortured.
Giving everything over to God through prayer, is what really helps me every day, get through the last 15+ years of being single (!), waiting for the right guy that God intends for me to have as a husband.
It’s not easy, but the more I systematize my life with my printable binders (there’s a few free in there to get you started if you look for them 🎁) and casting my cares upon Him, the more I give everything to Him and let HIM deal with it, the more free I feel. The more I take off the weight from me and place it in His hands. He is MORE than capable of taking care of it and WANTS us to give it to Him. 🎉
Here are 30 days of prayers to calm anxiety that you can say each day for 30 days to help ease your anxiety, letting go one piece of your stress at a time.
Praying is a great way to connect with God, who can provide us with peace even in the midst of chaos (Psalm 46:1-3). Let Him take the reigns over the next 30 days to calm your anxiety so that you can have complete freedom and peace (John 14:27)! ❤️
