Some of the happiest times in my life were working at credit unions! 🎉 I worked in the banking industry for over 10 years and absolutely loved it. ❤️
When I first started, I began stuffing envelopes for a credit card company. That was NOT fun. 😆 But I worked my way up. Learned 10-key and worked at a data management branch entering in numbers all day. Also, not the funnest. 😊
👉 But the cool thing about banking is that there’s TONS of room for growth and grow I did!
I worked in underwriting, processing loans. I worked at a major bank flooring cars, and I worked as a senior manager at a credit union amongst other jobs along the way.
Credit unions are THE best place to bank at (I personally only bank with credit unions) and they are the BEST place to work also! 💯
It’s a caring environment there and it’s where I developed my sense of serving others from. In credit unions, they taught us to serve and genuinely care about the member (the customer), putting THEM first. It was a very different culture than working for banks (most are me/bank-centered). Credit unions are people-centered and I found myself really fitting in well there and learning a lot.
Working for several credit unions was the best. I absolutely loved it and oh, the stories I could tell you.
I definitely love blogging more than working at credit unions, only because I’m my own boss, 😉 but credit unions will ALWAYS hold a dear and special place in my heart and those that work in banking or at credit unions, you’re loved! Some of the best people in the world work in banking.
When you go up to a teller, just know that. You’re most likely meeting an amazing person. ❤️
So today, I wanted to honor credit unions and tellers. See, as a teller, if you wanna grow in that business and get ahead, you have to go above and beyond. LOOK for ways to set yourself apart, show you care more, and you’ll grow in the company and get promoted more.
One of those ways is to think about things like setting out free credit union coloring pages with a cup of crayons in your lobby. It WILL get noticed by bosses and managers, trust me on that. They will love your initiative!
I created for you today these super adorable banking coloring pages for kids. Any child would love coloring a Hello Teller and I Love My Credit Union coloring sheet.
