I love using lip glosses that tint the lip color and aren’t super wild personally, so this DIY Lip Gloss is perfect for that. You can just tint it with natural ingredients or leave it plain with no color!
DIY Lip Gloss
Ingredients:
- 1 gram white beeswax
- 3 grams shea butter (you could also use virgin coconut oil)
- 2 grams jojoba oil (you could also use grapeseed, Fractionated Coconut Oil, or almond oil)
- 10 grams castor oil
- 1 gram vitamin E
- 7 drops of your favorite essential oil
- Pigment, such as organic beet root powder or mineral makeup
This will make enough for two full size lip gloss tubes to be filled. You can find lip gloss tubes at your local beauty supply stores.
Directions:
Put all the ingredients, except for the essential oil, in a glass jar.
Place the jar in a saucepan filled with 1-1.5 inches of boiling water
Once the ingredients are melted, remove the jar from the saucepan and let it cool.
After the ingredients are cooled off, add your essential oil(s).
If you want to add color, add the pigment or mineral makeup and stir until well combined. Be sure to add a little bit at a time until you reach the pigment color that you want.
Use a dropper to put the mixture in the lip gloss tube. If the mixture starts to get too thick, just warm it up a hair in warm water.
