Every mom should have an option to stay home with her children, regardless of income

15 Easy-to-Sign-Up Sites That Make You Side Cash

Does this sound like you:

• Your husband straight up tells you that if you want to stay home with your kids, you’re going to have to make income from home

• Your husband lets you stay home with the kids, agrees with it, but you can tell that he’s tired and you just want to be able to help

• You husband likes that you stay home, but you feel guilty when you spend HIS money. You wish you had YOUR OWN money to spend in order to buy the things you want

These seem to be the three most common issues facing stay-at-home-moms that I talk to. They want to be able to make money from home and they want to be able to CONTINUE to stay home. In order to do that, they need extra money.

Across the board, I’ve found that most family’s lives would be taken on a completely new level if they could make an extra $500/month, but you don’t have time to waste. You want to get in there, get started making money and helping your family now!

You’re not sure where to start or how to begin, or even what is the right path for you.

Before I started blogging, I didn’t know about these sites to be honest. I didn’t have that opportunity. No one ever told me. I want to change all that for you. I want you to be able to start making money RIGHT NOW in easy ways that you can, WITHOUT having to be a blogger to find out about them! While being a blogger can definitely help you make more from these sites (if you’ve thought about starting a blog, click here to see if it’s the right fit for you), you don’t HAVE TO BE a blogger in order to earn money. They pay pretty good without blogging!

If you're looking to make extra cash from home, these sites will become your best friend. They are incredibly easy to join and you can make money right away! 15 easy-to-sign-up sites that make you side cash. #makemoneyonline

15 Easy-to-Sign-Up Sites That Make You Side Cash

Did you know that you can get cash back from the purchases you already make? And the great part is that you DON’T have to have or open up a credit card with a high interest rate to get cash back.

Hands down, Ebates is my favorite cash back site. I’ve literally earned thousands of dollars from them over the 3-4 years I’ve been with them.

You simply go to their site FIRST before purchasing online, and it’s WAY cheaper to purchase your stuff online. I rarely shop in stores and here are my 37 reasons why.

But even setting all that aside, Ebates has a referral program where you can earn cash when you refer your friends.

There are a LOT of referral programs out there…why should this be any different?

You know, I really don’t know. I don’t know WHY people LOVE Ebates so much other than what I’ve already mentioned. But, the fact of the matter is they do. People sign up by the hoards (yes seriously) and you earn $10 each person AND get bonuses! Not only do you earn $10, but they earn $10 too! They earn $10 FREE money for signing up and making 1 purchase of $25 or more. That’s it. It’s super simple. And it’s effective.

How to promote them:

  • Share your Ebates link on your Facebook page
  • Share it in Facebook groups your in when it comes up naturally in conversation
  • Tell your friends about it
  • If you’re a blogger, put it on your blog
  • Make an enticing vertical picture for it to pin on Pinterest and link it to your Ebates affiliate
  • Tell the people in your church about it
  • Tell the moms in your PTA or school group about it.
  • Put a byliner in your emails and have Ebates on there and a link to your affiliate account. Say something like, “Did you know you can earn cash back just by making purchases online that you already make? Millions of people have joined Ebates and you should to. They’ll even give you $10 free to join!”

The truth is, that it wouldn’t be first on my list if it wern’t a money-making goldmine. Because I don’t talk about junk. Your time and my time is way too valuable for that!

Peek Usertesting

This is a wonderful site in which you review blogs (like mine) for money. They pay you $10 per review and it’s a really great company. Although I’ve never personally made money with them, I get Peek Usertesting’s every. single. month. and have for a very long time, so I’m pretty familiar with the set up.

If you’re curious of how it’s set up and what all you’ll have to do, you can check out this video by clicking here on a recent Peek Usertesting of this site.

This is definitely a great way to earn money from home and you can do the reviews at your own leisure.

American Consumer Opinion

Taking surveys from home is a great way to add money to your income. Will you get rich by taking surveys? No. But, it IS a great way to earn money. Think about it. A survey pays you $2-$3 per survey you take and it takes 10-15 minutes of your time. Let’s say you made $3 for 15 minutes, that’s $12/hour. That’s a high paying job right there!

With anything you do online to make money, whether selling on Craigslist, eBay, or making money from these sites mentioned here, you always want to make sure it’s worth your time. There are a lot of time suckers out there, and each mom will decide a different amount she wants to make per hour. A mom just starting out making money online, may want to make $5/hour, then as you learn how to make money online, you can move that up to $10/hour. If your goal is $10/hour and something doesn’t pay you at least what you want, don’t do it. The great thing about this list is that everything will make you $10/hour or more.

Not only that, but you get the satisfaction of helping create and inspire new products. One of my favorite things about taking surveys is that sometimes they will lead to more work. I remember the day that a very well-known cereal company hired me for $100 to take part in a 4 hour survey. That’s $25/hour guys! At the time, it was huge to me! And I loved every minute of it. I got to shape the new products they were coming out with. I got to try their products and give valuable feedback. I felt like I was a part of something, changing the world a little at a time.

I’d see the product in the store and feel so proud. That was MY idea, I’d say, knowing they took my advice. It was really cool.

Speaking of surveys….my other favorite survey company is…

Pinecone Research

I loved working for them as they always offered really great surveys, that were FUN and paid well. My favorite assignment was for a very well-known hair shampoo company and I was to test out the shampoo. They paid me $3 for the initial survey to pre-qualify me. Then they paid me another $3 to take the survey and get my pre-try opinions. They sent me TWO LARGE (massive-sized) bottles of shampoo to try for a few weeks, and last, they sent me another survey and paid me $3 for my opinions after trying it. I tell you…that was awesome! I was paid $9 and got free shampoo that lasted me like 6 months!

The bottles are about $8-$9 per bottle x 2 = $18 + 3 surveys ($9) = $27 for one task.

Does that happen every time? No! But it’s pretty cool when it does and the more you participate and give REAL quality answers, the more you get selected for great gigs like that.

Again, it won’t make you rich, but it takes VERY LITTLE time and the pay is pretty good for the amount of time you spend on each survey.

This is a great site in which you can do various things to earn points. You cash out the points for things like Amazon gift cards, etc.

Who doesn’t like free Amazon gift cards??? Uhm, no one!

You can do different things like search the internet, take quizzes, and yes, they even have an affiliate program, so that when you tell your friends about it, you get paid!

Here’s a screenshot of a few ways to earn…

Home Swagbucks

They just created an extension that you can download for your browser as well that will help you make more from their company. Definitely something you want to check out and play around with all the different ways you can earn points from their company.

Some of the things you can do to earn points:

  • Watch movies
  • Answer surveys
  • Play games
  • Take part in special offers
  • Take polls

Why you should join:

• They have no minimums for cashing out, whereas many companies do! As soon as you have enough points for a gift card, you can go and get it. Their lowest denomination gift card is $3, so you can redeem points for a gift card a lot earlier in your process than other rewards sites, making this a quick win!
• They’ve paid out more than $100 million in cash and free gift cards, making them SUPER reputable!
• They offer more ways to earn than anyone else, making this the go-to company because you can basically do it all on the site and earn MORE!
I just got an email from them the other day too, that said they have a mobile app. You can check it out here.

BlueHost is an affiliate company that pays you to refer your friends. Know anyone that wants to start a blog? If you do, you can make some serious cash! Bluehost charges them the money upfront (because who wants their site to go down because they forgot to make a payment and the URL is sold! Ahhhh!) and then they give you a portion of that as a thank you. Each sale you make highly differs. They pay anywhere from $65 to $125 per sale and the more you refer to them, the more you can earn. I know one blogger who made $43,000 last MONTH in sales from BlueHost. Is it worth your time? Absolutely!

When I was reselling, back before I started blogging, I made a killing in sales because I always bought super low using Slickdeals and sold at reasonable prices. I was able to offer such reasonable prices to my customers because I was getting the merchandise so cheap. It was a goldmine, seriously. If you want to make quick money online, resell. It’s as simple as that!

I’ve been with Epantry for a little while now and I get all my household supplies for free simply by using their affiliate program. They give you credit for every person who joins with you and it add up very quickly.

You can also earn money when you sign up other people who want to be an affiliate, not just use the products themselves. They’ve been working on a lot of incentives lately, so going into details at this point, may be irrelevant, but currently it’s $10 per sign up.

When I studied their prices as compared to say Target, their prices are just about the same considering they give you the $10 free each sign up. And if you are an influencer (this is what they call affiliates) sometimes you can get free access into their VIP program, which is a $20 value every year and gets you free shipping. I’ve done a lot of promoting with them and people really seem to love the company. I know I do! I look forward to their shipments every month.

I personally love that I don’t have to worry about running out of something. I just set up the products I want, and they ship them to me right when I need them. Pull ups, for example, are something that I used to stress about and no longer do because they are always just shipped right on time and the quality of the product is superb. In fact, if you are a part of the VIP program, they give you one free item every single month. On top of that, they send out free samples with every shipment (at least they have to me). It’s really cool to get samples of their products because then I know what to order the next time.

They really make things so much easier and I’m proud to promote them and you will be too!

Fiverr and Upwork

I wanted to stick two companies in this article, because really, they are so similar.

Fiverr is a company that you can make money from and while I’m a fan of making money WITH them, I’m not a fan of SPENDING money with them. I feel like there are a lot of out-of-country scam artists and it’s hard not to get taken. I got taken many times over when I first started blogging. They would sell things that are completely against the rules and my being new to blogging, I did not know. I had to go back and delete all that they did and it was a nightmare.

With that said, if YOU are honorable, you will stand above the rest and can easily make money. You can sell just about anything and once you get started, it goes pretty quickly. Get about 5-10 sales, and you start flying with the sales. When I was selling on Fiverr, I happened across a gig for sale that was an image of a cupcake and the person wrote Happy Birthday and the person’s name in the flag on the cupcake. That’s it. That’s all they did. I mean, it takes like, what, 5 seconds to do that and they had about 160 sales! 160 x $5 is $800!

The fees for Fiverr, last I checked, was $1 per gig. So, if you sell something for $5, you earn $4. They also charge the customer a small fee around 50¢, but you get the $4 per sale.

Upwork (formerly known as Odesk) is very much the same as Fiverr. They have their own rules of course, but both sites are great to earn money from.

Ideas you could sell and market:

  • Editing
  • Creating business cards
  • Doing image work – something you could easily do on Picmonkey
  • Writing
  • Creating a cupcake image to say Happy Birthday (lol)
  • Design a logo
  • Record a voiceover
  • Checking a document for grammar errors
  • Creating a cartoon
  • Sell free printables you make
  • Transcribe something

Really, the list goes on and on…

Shuttershock and BigStockPhoto

If you love photography and would like to make some money, you can become a contributor on Shuttershock or BigStockPhoto. It is free to join and you can get anywhere from 25¢-$75 per download!

Bloggers like me, magazines, websites, even TV shows are always looking for pictures to use in their media. Since taking the perfect picture usually takes a long time and it’s hard to have the right set up or get the perfect professional-looking photo, we rely on those sites to find pictures and use the pictures on our sites. Buying a subscription to a photography site is the logical way to go. My site personally uses a good balance of both stock photo’s and photo’s that I take myself.

If you have a knack for taking awesome photo’s or if you’d love to learn, this may be the route to go. You can learn all about photography from this course, Click Love Grow. This is a course I took myself and it is REALLY AWESOME. WELL worth the money to go through the course. She teaches you to the moon and back and would be a very low investment for this type of work.

Craigslist is like an online yard sale. There are so many things you can sell on there. You can purchase things on Craigslist to sell or even get things for free in the free section. I used to refinish old furniture and make quite a lot doing this. You can also check out places like Slickdeals, eBay, or yard sales and resell on Craigslist.

Another thing you can do is buy things on Craigslist and sell them on…

Of course, no list would be complete without eBay. This is how I made a full-time income before blogging. I would sell Littlest Pet Shop toys, most of the time that I got off eBay in lots or off Craigslist. I’d sell them all individually and at the time, was in the top 5 sellers in over 46,000 ads. I was good and I loved it (but I love blogging more!)

eBay is a great way to get rid of a lot of stuff around the house. Things like old computers, electronics, toys, scrapbooking sets you never used. Really, anything you can think of and the more unique or original the item is, the more you’ll get.

I remember years and years ago, I saw people selling snow from that bad blizzard they got in Colorado. One zipper bag of melted snow, because the story was picked up by Yahoo, went for thousands of dollars. I highly doubt they paid, but there were a lot of other ads that were actually selling as well. I saw a weird mug on there that went for $30. Things sell, you just have to list them and wait it out if they don’t sell right away.

If you’d like to learn more about making a living on eBay, stay tuned, because I’m currently working on a massive book that will tell you EVERYTHING you need to know. If you want to find out when the book releases, be sure to sign up for my newsletter to stay in touch, as I’ll be sharing the release in there first.

If you love to write or journal, you will love Examiner.com. I know a couple who makes $300/month solely writing articles, posts, and reviews for the site. There are a lot of other places to make money writing posts. You can get involved in Facebook groups for VA’s and find jobs, assignments, and even steady blogs to write for!

Bloggers need a lot of help running their blogs, whether that be helping with social media, writing articles, purchasing pictures, doing research, and so on. For my site in particular, I have an assistant, Katie, and she is literally amazing. She does a lot of things behind the scenes, especially with social media, because I just can’t keep up. Every day I write posts, check and read all the comments, comment myself, and like things, but she usually handles a lot of other details for me and it’s such a huge life saver. She does things like set up my book on Amazon for me (I’m NOT technical and she is), or create how-to video’s that I need.

There are so many things that you can do and just getting plugged in can help you monetize your skills a great deal.

Enter Giveaways

I know that it may *sound* strange, but there are actually professional giveaway enterers (for a lack of a better title). They spend all day online entering giveaways and this is a real way they earn money and prizes from home. They set up a separate email account for the spam and enter everything they can. You can find giveaways to enter on Slickdeals by clicking here. Another great site that lists great sweepstakes and contest is Giveaway Promote. I’ve participated in their contests before and they are solid. Here’s a link to a blogger I know where she has a full list of places to find giveaways!

And just in case you think you won’t win, I can tell you from experience that I win contests often. I share all my secrets of how I do it here in my insider secrets post.

Do you like to sew? Maybe you create clay sculptures. Whatever you hand make, you can sell on Etsy. A friend of mine makes purses and sells them on Etsy and at craft fairs. Especially around Christmas-time, craft fairs can make good money! I know another girl who sells vinyl backgrounds for photography and does really well. I buy my backgrounds from her as they are quality. I see other people all the time selling things they’ve created online.

Things like printables, calendars, menu’s, organizing sheets. If you have Picmonkey, you can create a printable and sell it on Etsy!!!! And they make fantastic money too! I’m still waiting to find a good quality person who can make me a household binder because I think my readers would love it, but it’s so dang expensive. I’m talking hundreds of dollars for an exclusive set for just my site!

Think about all the money that you can make just doing the thing you take for granted. If you type, you can sell your skills as a transcriptionist or writing for blogs. If you take photos, you can make money selling your photo’s to stock photo sites. Like giving your opinion? You can take surveys, play games, and search with companies like SwagBucks and make money that way.

The sky is the limit guys. You can literally do ANYTHING. We live in a day and age where anything is possible. The point is that you need to jump in and do it. Get involved, jump. Don’t know where to begin? The best place to start is where you are at now. Start somewhere because you don’t want to look back a year from now and be in the same place you are now!

“Go after your dreams because no one else will go after them for you.” ~ Sarah Titus

When I was married, he always used to hold me back, telling me I was worthless, and after 14 years, I believed him. But look at how far I’ve come. Why? Because I won’t take, “No,” for an answer. Because I get out there and go after my dreams, regardless of what anyone else says. They don’t live my life. They won’t have to live with my choices. I do. And I chose to go after what I want. How about you? Will you gather up the courage and go for it…or will you sit on the sidelines being afraid and overwhelmed? I get it, it’s scary. I get scared to, but we can’t let that stop us! Life is too short to live in fear.

I make good revenue on my blog through affiliates, but there doesn't seem to be any list anywhere of where to FIND the affiliate programs to offer our readers. Not anymore! Here's a huge affiliate products resource list created especially for lifestyle bloggers! Go ahead....get your affiliate on!

If you’re looking for a full and complete list of what affiliates are worth recommending that you can earn money from, be sure to sign up for my newsletter here and get the FREE eBook, Huge Affiliate Products Resource List for Lifestyle Bloggers. It covers everything from recipes, to parenting books, to printables, and everything in between!

  1. These are all such great ideas and there are a few that are completely new to me. I’m actually about to start working again (covering a maternity leave for a teacher) and am wondering how I’m going to do that and blog at the same time. However, my hubby said we needed some extra money so I took the job.

When that’s done, I’m definitely looking into these money-makers and hopefully I can add some extra cash to my blog earnings. I promised my hubby that I’d go to work when our youngest started school (this fall) but now I totally want to break that promise…LOL! I started blogging in the meantime and am hoping to make this work!

Thanks for all the awesome ideas!!!

    • With your dedication and persistence, it will. You’re still fairly new, so give it some time, but keep investing in the blog. Don’t give up! By the way, love the new site design and your picture. I can connect with you a lot better seeing your face. 🙂 When you get a little more money rolling in, be sure to have it professionally done. Once you do that, you’ll be taken a lot more seriously with Google and readers. It’s monumental to your growth, BUT it’s also like $400. Worth every penny though. 🙂 Can you do VA work in the meantime to pay for blogging stuff? That’s what I did the first year of blogging.

      • I really like the idea of doing VA work…that’s a great suggestion. Of course it will have to wait until my 3 month teaching commitment is up but that will be first on my list. How did you come across those kinds of jobs when you started?

Also, the picture I have on my site is actually a professional picture. I went to my first blog conference in September and was able to have one done for $25!!! Are you looking at the old Disney picture with my family cropped out or do you think I need to have the professional picture redone?

        • There are Facebook groups you can join. I just learned and tracked what they did and how they did it and then started VA work in order to pay for my blogging expenses when I first started.

Not looking at just one picture in particular, just the next step in your journey as a blogger. 🙂

          • Thanks so much…I’ll definitely look into the FB groups and also my photos! I always appreciate your feedback and think it’s awesome that someone as established as you takes the time to help us smaller bloggers 🙂

  2. I am so glad I found your site, it is a goldmine. I’m a new blogger and a mom to 2 under 3 and I am determined to make this work. I’ve earned a little over a dollar on google adsense so far. LOL! 🙂 Thanks for all you do!
